Production of green aromatics and olefins by catalytic fast pyrolysis of wood sawdust

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the performance of ZSM-5-based catalysts for pine wood sawdust and furan pyrolysis with three different reactors: a bench scale bubbling fluidized bed reactor, a fixed bed reactor and a semi-batch pyroprobe reactor.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the interpretation of the NH3-TPD patterns of H-ZSM-5 and H-mordenite

TL;DR: The species obtained from adsorption of ammonia over zeolite H-ZSM-5 and H-mordenite were characterized by temperature-programmed desorption (NH 3 -TPD) and infrared spectroscopy (IR) as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design of solid acid catalysts for aqueous-phase dehydration of carbohydrates: The role of Lewis and Bronsted acid sites

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of well-characterized acid catalysts, including Zr-P, SiO2-Al2O3, WOX/ZrO2, γ-Al 2O3 and HY zeolite, were compared for aqueous-phase dehydration of xylose.
Journal ArticleDOI

Production of levulinic acid from cellulose by hydrothermal decomposition combined with aqueous phase dehydration with a solid acid catalyst

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors introduced a process to produce levulinic acid from cellulose without the use of a homogeneous acid catalyst, using a non-catalytic hydrothermal decomposition of cellulose at moderate temperatures.

The acid properties of H-ZSM-5 as studied by NH3-TPD and 27Al-MAS-NMR spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, the acid properties of H-ZSM-5 zeolites with different SiO2/Al2O3 ratios (30, 50, 80, 150, 280 and 1000) were examined by means of the temperature programmed desorption of ammonia (NH3-TPD).

Infrared and temperature-programmed desorption study of the acidic properties of ZSM-5-type zeolites

TL;DR: In this article, infrared spectroscopy and temperature-programmed desorption have been used to investigate the acidic properties of ZSM-5-type zeolites, showing that the most active acidic sites are located at the channel intersections, and the weaker acidic sites correspond to terminal silanol groups on the external surface of the zeolite or possibly nonzeolitic impurities.
Journal ArticleDOI

The active site of acidic aluminosilicate catalysts

TL;DR: The availability of solid acidic catalysts based on zeolite ZSM-5 make possible observations on the nature and absolute rate behaviour of the individual protonic sites as discussed by the authors, even at levels of parts per million, or less.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reactions on ZSM-5-type zeolite catalysts

TL;DR: In this paper, the main features of the catalytic conversion process are discussed and a mechanism is suggested for the formation of sorbed C3,C4 olefinic residues, and for initial carbon-carbon bond formation from methanol.

Study of the state of aluminium in zeolite-β

TL;DR: In this article, the modifications of the state of aluminium when introducing protons into zeolite-β have been investigated by combining several analytical techniques, and it was concluded that the octahedrally coordinated and NMR invisible aluminium must be regarded as inherent parts of the framework of the Zeolite and their formation is explained by a distortion of aluminic sites caused by the high electron affinity of the proton.

Quantitative high-resolution 27Al NMR: tetrahedral non-framework aluminium in hydrothermally treated zeolites

TL;DR: In this paper, a new type of aluminium in hydrothennally treated Y and ZSM-5 zeolites has been detected by high-field 27 Al NMR, using very fast sample spinning and two-dimensional NMR spectroscopie techniques.
