Abstract
The ``optimum'' output filter inductance Lf and the input filter capacitor Ci for a single-phase uncontrolled bridge rectifier employed for low power de-to-dc converters or inverters is established. The filter Ci is optimized to obtain maximum input power factor, minimum filter inductance, and minimum output dc voltage regulation. A design example is provided and theoretical results have been verified on an experimental model.

Current waveform distortion in power factor correction circuits employing discontinuous-mode boost converters

K.-H. Liu, +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived the waveform distortion and the maximum power factor achievable in a graph form as functions of the ratio of the line voltage to output voltage for active power factor correction circuits.

Feedback Linearization Control of Three-Phase UPS Inverter Systems

TL;DR: A feedback linearization technique is proposed to control the output voltage control of three-phase uninterruptible power supply systems and gives high dynamic responses in response to load variation as well as a zero steady-state error.

A high-power-factor buck converter

TL;DR: In this article, a buck converter was proposed, which is composed of rectifier diodes, a small input capacitor, and a buck converter. But the converter's power factor was not shown to be over 0.9 in discontinuous mode.

Invited paper. Power-factor correction in single-phase switching-mode power supplies—an overview

TL;DR: A comprehensive overview of power-factor correction in single-phase off-line switching-mode power supplies, including the definition of power factor and its relation to total harmonic distortion, the IEC 555-2 requirements, many passive and active power factor corrector topologies and control methods, modelling issues, and practical considerations are presented in this article.

A novel passive waveshaping method for single-phase diode rectifiers

TL;DR: In this article, a passive wave-shaping method for single-phase diode rectifiers is presented, which maintains high-input power factor, lowers rectifier current stresses, and lowers the volt-ampere (VA) rating of the associated reactive components.

Pulse width modulated series inverter with inductor-transformer in low power applications

TL;DR: The power requirements for spacecraft have been increasing steadily from the watts requirements to kilowatts requirements as discussed by the authors, and the demands on reliability and simplicity of conversion circuits have been raised and the weight allowances in pound per kilowatt of conversion equipment have been lowered.
