Water-soluble arene ruthenium catalysts containing sulfonated diamine ligands for asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of α-aryl ketones and imines in aqueous solution

TL;DR: A new family of nine cationic organometallic aqua complexes of the type [(arene)Ru(RSO2N∩NH2)(OH2)]+ (1-9), containing chiral N,N-chelating ligands, has been synthesised and isolated as the tetrafluoroborate salts, which are water-soluble and stable to hydrolysis as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cationic arene ruthenium complexes containing chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligands

TL;DR: The monocationic chloro complexes containing chelating 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands have been prepared and characterised as the chloride salts in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Water-Soluble Arene Ruthenium Complexes Containing a trans-1,2-Diaminocyclohexane Ligand as Enantioselective Transfer Hydrogenation Catalysts in Aqueous Solution

TL;DR: The enantiopure complexes 1-9 have been employed as catalysts for the transfer hydrogenation of acetophenone in aqueous solution using sodium formate and water as a hydrogen source as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Relating catalytic activity and electrochemical properties: The case of arene–ruthenium phenanthroline complexes catalytically active in transfer hydrogenation

TL;DR: In this article, the electrochemical properties of cationic complexes were studied by cyclic voltammetry in order to rationalize catalytic activity in transfer hydrogenation of the respective aqua complexes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Half-sandwich η6-arene–ruthenium(II) complexes bearing 1-alkyl(benzyl)-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]-phenanthroline (IP) derivatives: the effect of alkyl chain length of ligands to catalytic activity

TL;DR: In this article, 1H-imidazo [4,5-f][1,10]-phenanthroline (IPR) ligands were applied in the transfer hydrogenation of ketones by 2-propanol in presence of potassium hydroxide.
