Batch and continuous (fixed-bed column) biosorption of crystal violet by Artocarpus heterophyllus (jackfruit) leaf powder

TL;DR: JLP is a promising biosorbent for removal of CV from aqueous solutions and the Thomas model as well as the BDST model showed good agreement with the experimental results at all the process parameters studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation and characterization of cellulose nanocrystals from jackfruit peel.

TL;DR: Of the three different methods tested, sodium chlorite treatment produced the highest yield of cellulose, 20.08 ± 0.05% w/w (dry weight) and Sulphuric acid hydrolysis was employed to produce SCNCs and examined by TEM for the morphology and by HPLC for the presence of glucose.

Prenylated flavonoids, promising nutraceuticals with impressive biological activities

TL;DR: Biotransformation is a promising alternative to solve the problem of low abundance in nature and complicated to be chemically synthesized, which limits the applications in dietary supplements and medicines.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nutritional and Health Benefits of Jackfruit ( Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam.): A Review

TL;DR: The aim of this review is to disseminate the knowledge on nutritional and health benefits of Jackfruit, in order to promote utilization of jackfruit for commercial scale food production.
Journal ArticleDOI

Physicochemical properties and in vitro antioxidant activities of polysaccharide from Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam. pulp.

TL;DR: The results of antioxidant activities showed that JFP-Ps exhibited strong DPPH and OH radical scavenging activities, with a relatively lower reducing power, suggesting that J FP-Ps can be exploited as effective natural antioxidant applications in medical and food industries.
