Pleiotropic deficiency of carbohydrate utilization in an adenyl cyclase deficient mutant of Escherichia coli.

TLDR
It is concluded that cyclic AMP is necessary for the normal utilization of a number of carbon sources by E. coli, because it is required for the synthesis of enzymes involved in their metabolism.

Cyclic AMP receptor protein: role in transcription activation

TL;DR: The structure of this pleiotropic activator of gene transcription in bacteria and its interaction sites at promoter DNA's as well as the role of this protein in the RNA polymerase-promoter interactions are reviewed.

Cyclic Adenosine Monophosphate in Bacteria

TL;DR: The action of cyclic AMP in E. coli may serve as a model to understand its action on transcriptional and translational processes in eukaryotes.

Salmonella typhimurium deletion mutants lacking adenylate cyclase and cyclic AMP receptor protein are avirulent and immunogenic.

TL;DR: Fusaric acid-resistant derivatives with deletions of the Tn10 and adjacent DNA sequences were constructed in S. typhimurium SR-11 strains with or without the virulence plasmid pStSR100, and these delta cya delta crp strains grew more slowly than wild-type strains.

Stimulation by cyclic adenosine monophosphate of plasmid deoxyribonucleic acid replication and catabolite repression of the plasmid deoxyribonucleic acid-protein relaxation complex.

TL;DR: It was shown that synthesis of both the plasmid-determined protein colicin E1 and the protein component(s) of the ColE1 relaxation complex is mediated through the c-AMP-catabolite gene activator protein system.

Optimal conditions for mutagenesis by N-methyl-N′-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine in escherichia coli K12☆

TL;DR: N-methyl-N′-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine induces at least one mutation per treated cell under conditions permitting over 50 per cent survival and induced auxotrophs are found.

Regulation of β-Galactosidase Synthesis in Escherichia coli by Cyclic Adenosine 3',5'-Monophosphate

TL;DR: Cyclic AMP appears to participate in the regulation of β-galactosidase mRNA synthesis at the gene level in Escherichia coli made permeable by treatment with tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane and ethylenediamintetraacetic acid.

Cyclic 3′5′-AMP: Stimulation of β-galactosidase and tryptophanase induction in E. Coli

TL;DR: It is reported that cyclic 3′,5′-AMP increases the differential rate of synthesis of two inducible enzymes, β-galactosidase and tryptophanase, when the synthesis of these enzymes is repressed by glucose and pyruvate respectively.
