TLDR
PLS-regression (PLSR) as mentioned in this paper is the PLS approach in its simplest, and in chemistry and technology, most used form (two-block predictive PLS) is a method for relating two data matrices, X and Y, by a linear multivariate model.About:

Changes in diurnal patterns within the Populus transcriptome and metabolome in response to photoperiod variation.
Daniel E. Hoffman,Pär Jonsson,Max Bylesjö,Johan Trygg,Henrik Antti,Maria E. Eriksson,Thomas Moritz +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, transcriptomic and metabolomic responses to a change in photoperiod from long to short days in hybrid aspen (Populus tremula x Populus tremuloides) are reported.

Characterization of common wheat flours (Triticum aestivum L.) through multivariate analysis of conventional rheological parameters and gluten peak test indices
TL;DR: In this article, a multivariate approach was used to investigate the correlations existing between the GlutoPeak indices and the conventional rheological parameters, and the values of the squared correlation coefficients in prediction of an external test set showed that acceptable to good results (0.61 − RPRED2 − 0.96) were obtained for the prediction of 18 out of the 26 conventional parameters here considered.

Peaberry coffee discrimination using UV-visible spectroscopy combined with SIMCA and PLS-DA
Diding Suhandy,Meinilwita Yulia +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used soft independent modelling of class analogy (SIMCA) and partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) to classify coffee samples into either pure peaberry or pure normal coffee classes using two chemometric methods.

Detecting Aircraft Performance Anomalies from Cruise Flight Data
TL;DR: An approach to detecting anomalies from aircraft cruise flight data based on a model learned from the historical data of a fleet of aircraft and identified a regression model that maps the flight conditions and aircraft control inputs into accelerations (linear and rotational).

A Leisurely Look at the Bootstrap, the Jackknife, and Cross-Validation
Bradley Efron,Gail Gong +1 more
TL;DR: This paper reviewed the nonparametric estimation of statistical error, mainly the bias and standard error of an estimator, or the error rate of a prediction rule, at a relaxed mathematical level, omitting most proofs, regularity conditions and technical details.
