Polarisation characteristics of scattered radiation at double the frequency, omega , of an incident beam of circularly polarised light by harmonically bound electrons are investigated. The scattered light is, in general, elliptically polarised at omega = omega 0 (the natural frequency of the electron), omega = omega 0/2 and far from these values. For the angle of scattering, theta = pi /2, the scattered radiation is plane polarised, but for small theta , the radiation is circularly polarised. It is found that the angular dependence of the scattering radiation is the same in all cases; only the amplitude varies and is very large for resonance at omega = omega 0. No resonance is found at omega = omega 0/2.
