Local current-based method for fault identification and location on series capacitor-compensated transmission line with different configurations

TL;DR: A new efficient method for fault detection, faulty phase selection, and fault point identification on series capacitor-compensated transmission line that works well for all ground and non-ground faults, does not need pre-fault information; does not require any communication facilities; avoids high voltage measurement; and works smoothly for a wide range of fault resistance values.

Voltage Stability Assessment of Power System Network using QV and PV Modal Analysis

TL;DR: This research focuses on the voltage instability analysis by implementing the QV and PV modal analysis for mesh-type power system by using reactive power-voltage (QV) and real power- voltage (PV)modal analysis.

On Extending and Comparing Newton–Raphson Variants for Solving Power-Flow Equations

TL;DR: The goal is to investigate strengths and weaknesses of the addressed techniques in terms of computational effort and convergence rate, which are the most relevant aspects to consider while choosing the approach to employ to solve power-flow equations for a specific power system under study.

Identification of dangerous contingencies for large scale power system security assessment

TL;DR: An adapted version of the developed iterative sampling algorithm allowing to estimate the probability of occurrence of a dangerous contingency and the number of dangerous contingencies in a discrete search space is provided.

Robust Controller Design for Load Frequency Control in Power Systems using State-Space Approach

TL;DR: In this article, a robust governor was designed using H∞ techniques to replace the conventional governor of the steam turbine of the power system to regulate the frequency of power grid. But the robust governor is synthesized using state-space approach with time variations, neglected dynamics, and constant main steam pressure are considered in the design process.
