Walter Rudin
TLDR
The real and complex number system as discussed by the authors is a real number system where the real number is defined by a real function and the complex number is represented by a complex field of functions.

Dispersal per recruit: an efficient method for assessing sustainability in marine reserve networks

TL;DR: A method for efficiently assessing a marine reserve configuration for persistence and yield of a population with sedentary adults and dispersing larvae, and it is shown that, in uniform systems of reserves with finite reserve size, maximal fisheries yield occurs when the density of reserves is such that all post-settlement habitat is nearly saturated with settlers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bayesian wombling: curvilinear gradient assessment under spatial process models.

TL;DR: The notion of a curvilinear wombling boundary in a vector analytic framework using parametric curves is formalized and a comprehensive statistical framework for curvil inear boundary analysis based on spatial process models for point-referenced data is developed.

Decentralized Charging of Plug-in Electric Vehicles With Distribution Feeder Overload Control

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed, analyzed and evaluated charging algorithms for PEVs with feeder overload constraints in the distribution grid, which jointly minimize the variance of the aggregate load and prevent overloading of the distribution feeders.

Stability of power systems with large amounts of distributed generation

TL;DR: In this paper, the stability analysis of power systems with large penetration levels of distributed generation is studied, and some theoretical aspects of the stability studies of the power system with large power penetration levels are discussed.

Bus energy reduction by transition pattern coding using a detailed deep submicrometer bus model

TL;DR: A data-distribution and bus-structure aware methodology for the design of coding schemes for low-power on-chip and interchip communication is presented and bus partitioning is proposed and mathematically analyzed as a way to reduce the complexity of the encoder/decoder.
