Principles of mathematical analysis

Walter Rudin
TLDR
The real and complex number system as discussed by the authors is a real number system where the real number is defined by a real function and the complex number is represented by a complex field of functions.

Statistical variability in nonlinear spaces: application to shape analysis and dt-mri

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a new technique called principal geodesic analysis for describing the variability of data in nonlinear spaces, which is a generalization of a classical technique in linear statistics called principal component analysis.

Unsupervised feature selection by regularized matrix factorization

TL;DR: A novel algorithm named Regularized Matrix Factorization Feature Selection (RMFFS) is proposed for unsupervised feature selection that takes the correlation among features into consideration and can achieve better performance than some state-of-the-art unsuper supervised feature selection methods.

Simplex-Based 3D Spatio-temporal Feature Description for Action Recognition

TL;DR: Experimental results demonstrate that the novel simplex-based orientation decomposition (SOD) descriptor substantially outperforms traditional 3D descriptors for the KTH, UCF Sport, and Hollywood-2 benchmark action datasets and shows that the results show that the SOD descriptor is a superior individual descriptor for action recognition.

Estimating Coherence Measures from Limited Experimental Data Available.

TL;DR: This Letter puts forward an approach to estimate coherence measures of an unknown state from any limited experimental data available, which is not only applicable to coherence Measures but can be extended to other resource measures.

Approximate Quantum Markov Chains

TL;DR: This chapter discusses the concept of quantum Markov chains with a particular focus on the robustness of their properties, and shows how the new insights can be used to prove strengthened versions of different famous entropy inequalities.
