Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamic regulation of D-serine release in the vertebrate retina.
TL;DR: In these light‐evoked experiments, the addition of exogenous d‐serine had a large effect on low contrast and low intensity NMDAR responses that decreased as the intensity was increased, and the degradation of endogenous d‐Serine decreased the responses more at higher intensities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rod and cone generation of wavelets in the frog electroretinogram.
TL;DR: Results for frog retina indicate that rhodopsin rods, green rods, or cones, can dominate wavelet generation under appropriate adaptational conditions, and results for rat retina also indicate that wavelets can be dominated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Extensive lateral transmission in the inner plexiform layer of the pigeon retina.

Zebrafish inner retina: Local signals for spatial position, luminance, and color contrast
TL;DR: The Proximal Negative Response of zebrafish provides clear evidence for the encoding of color and luminance contrast in the inner retina, and exhibits the defining properties common to many other vertebrates, reinforcing the view that the zebra Fish may further serve as a model for retinal function and that the PNR may provide a new approach for studies of development, genetics, and retinal degeneration in zebra fish.
Journal ArticleDOI
A comparison of the proximal negative response and ganglion cell responses to sinusoidal flicker
TL;DR: Intracellular recordings from ON/OFF ganglion cells reveal slow potentials with nearly identical waveforms and phases to those of the proximal negative response, which support the suggestion that the PNR arises from activity in the on/off system.
