TLDR
In this article, a polarized light camera was employed to simultaneously capture the photoelastic patterns of the dark and bright fields under circular polariscope, and based on the light intensity difference of these patterns in the entire loading process, a method of quantifying fringe orders was proposed.

Relationship between Photoelasticity of Polyurethane and Dielectric Anisotropy of Diisocyanate, and Application of High-Photoelasticity Polyurethane to Tactile Sensor for Robot Hands.

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the elasto-optical constant depends on the concentration of diisocyanate groups in a unit volume of a polymer and the magnitude of anisotropy of the dielectric constant.

New computational hybrid three-wavelength-based approach of phase shifting for analyzing the stress field in photoelasticity studies

TL;DR: This new computational hybrid approach calculates the stress field by extract the phase steps from RGB color channels of a photoelastic color image by integrated the load stepping strategy with a computational hybrid phase algorithm, hence only bright field images are required.

Initiation and propagation of a single internal 3D crack in brittle material under dynamic loads

TL;DR: In this article , a series of tests were carried out on cubic glass specimens containing a closed pre-crack using a split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) system, aiming to investigate the internal three-dimensional (3D) crack growth under dynamic compression.

Matrix Fourier optics enables a compact full-Stokes polarization camera

TL;DR: A formalism—matrix Fourier optics—for treating polarization in paraxial diffractive optics is introduced, a powerful generalization of a large body of past work on optical elements in which polarization may vary spatially.
