Numerical modeling of self-limiting and self-enhancing caprock alteration induced by CO2 storage in a depleted gas reservoir
TL;DR: In this article, numerical simulations of reactive transport which may be induced in the caprock of an on-shore depleted gas reservoir by the geological sequestration of carbon dioxide are presented, where the main focus is on the potential effect of precipitation and dissolution processes on the sealing efficiency of caprock formations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Geochemical effects of CO2 sequestration in sandstones under simulated in situ conditions of deep saline aquifers
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of brine and supercritical CO 2 (SCCO 2 ) on reservoir rocks from deep (1500-2000m) saline aquifers were examined via experimental simulation at in situ conditions.

Reactive transport modeling to study changes in water chemistry induced by CO2 injection at the Frio-I Brine Pilot
TL;DR: In this paper, the Frio-I Brine Pilot was used to demonstrate the potential for geologic storage of CO 2 in saline aquifers, during which 1600 T CO 2 were injected into a high-permeability sandstone and the resulting subsurface plume of CO2 was monitored using a variety of hydrogeological, geophysical, and geochemical techniques.
