Journal ArticleDOI
A comparative cytological and morphological study of mesostoma ehrenbergii ehrenbergii and mesostoma ehrenbergii wardii
Ladley Husted,Trenton K. Ruebush +1 more
Journal ArticleDOI
A new index for estimating genetic recombination from chiasma distribution data
TL;DR: Index Ir and I′r are proposed for organisms that allow a reasonably accurate measurement of chiasma distribution by proposing an index that takes into account: (a) the proportional length of chromosomes and (b) the accurate position of chiasmata.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cytogenetic studies on two F1 hybrids of autotetraploid rice varieties showing extremely high level of heterosis
Li Luan,Sheng-Bin Tu,Wen-Bo Long,Xiao-Quan Wang,Yun-Jiao Liu,Fan-Lun Kong,Tao He,W. G. Yan,Maoqun Yu +8 more
TL;DR: Mechanisms of two F1 hybrids of autotetraploid rice showing extremely high pollen fertility and extremely high level of heterosis are suggested to have better behaviors of chromosome pairing and genetic stability than autotetic plants ever studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cytotaxonomy of Commelinaceae: chromosome numbers of some African and Asiatic species
Robert B. Faden,Y. Suda +1 more
TL;DR: Karyotypic data in addition to chromosome numbers are found to be useful in assessing relationships in the family, and evolutionary trends in the karyotype are noted.
