'Nonclassical' states in quantum optics: a 'squeezed' review of the first 75 years

TL;DR: A review of studies performed in the field of non-classical states can be found in this article, with a focus on the evolution of Gaussian wave packets for an oscillator, a free particle and a particle moving in uniform constant electric and magnetic fields.
Journal ArticleDOI

A (p, q)-oscillator realization of two-parameter quantum algebras

TL;DR: In this paper, a quantum algebra sup,q(2) with two independent deformation parameters (p, q) is studied, and the standard single-parameter (q) deformations are obtained in the limit p=q.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantum groups and their applications in nuclear physics

TL;DR: In this article, a self-contained introduction to the necessary mathematical tools (q-numbers, q-analysis and q-oscillators), the suq(2) rotator model and its extensions, the construction of deformed exactly soluble models (u(3)so(3), model, Interacting Boson Model, Moszkowski model), the 3-dimensional q-deformed harmonic oscillator imd its relation to the nuclear shell model, and the symmetries of the anisotropic quantum harmonic oscillators with rational ratios of frequencies.
Journal ArticleDOI

New q-deformed coherent states with an explicitly known resolution of unity

TL;DR: In this article, a new family of q-deformed coherent states |zq, where 0 < q < 1, were constructed, and the photon number statistics for these states were shown to be sub-Poissonian.
Journal ArticleDOI

Supersymmetry of Parafermions

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that single-mode parafermionic type systems possess supersymmetry, which is based on the symmetry of characteristic functions of the parafermanions related to the generalized deformed oscillator of Daskaloyannis et al. The supersymmetric properties of these systems are realized in both unbroken and spontaneously broken phases.

Coherent and incoherent states of the radiation field

TL;DR: In this article, the photon statistics of arbitrary fields in fully quantum-mechanical terms are discussed, and a general method of representing the density operator for the field is discussed as well as a simple formulation of a superposition law for photon fields.

Para-Bose coherent states

TL;DR: In this paper, the generalized commutation relation characteristic of the para-Bose oscillators is considered, where the number states and the representation of various operators in the basis formed by these states are obtained.
