Evaluation of optimization operation models for cascaded hydropower reservoirs to utilize medium range forecasting inflow

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of the models that incorporate forecasting inflow for cascaded hydropower reservoirs operation is evaluated, and the authors evaluate the performances of these models separately on the concepts of explicit stochastic optimization (ESO) and implicit stochastically optimization (ISO) as well as parameterization-simulationoptimization (PSO).

An optimization procedure for the sustainable management of water resources

TL;DR: A procedure to optimize the allocation of resources for water supply in an area using a constrained non-linear type problem that can be used to solve local problems of supply, through the redefinition of the distribution system is proposed.

Analysis of a large inter-basin water transfer system in India / Analyse d’un grand système de transfert d’eau inter-bassins en Inde

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a large inter-basin water transfer system in peninsular India, which covers four major basins and involves operation of 13 major structures.

Optimal Operation of the Eastern Nile System Using Genetic Algorithm, and Benefits Distribution of Water Resources Development

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the optimal scenarios for water resources management in the Eastern Nile with regard to hydropower generation and irrigation development, and found that cooperative management yields an increase in hydro-energy returns for all countries compared to the status quo, with a very high increase in Ethiopian's returns, as expected.

Influence of Inflows Modeling on Management Simulation of Water Resources System

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of different hydrological input data on the management simulation of a water resources system (WRS) was investigated using synthetic inflow series generated with several stochastic models: an autoregressive moving average (ARMA), the Lane condensed temporal disaggregation model, and a nonlinear model based on a multilayer perceptron artificial neural network (MLP-ANN) with a random component embedded.
