TLDR
A broad array of computer models have been developed for evaluating reservoir operations as discussed by the authors, and selecting a modeling and analysis approach for a particular application depends upon the characteristics of the reservoir characteristics.

Optimizing Short-Term Operation of a Multireservoir System during Transition of Objectives and Constraints

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented an optimization model that considers multiple shifting objectives and constraints for the multi-reservoir system during a two-week period and showed that the proposed model can successfully achieve Pareto-optimal solutions for the reservoir operation in the transition period of objectives.

Optimal short-term operation of a multipurpose reservoir system under limited water supply

TL;DR: Results showed that operating rules obtained through neural networks can perform well under different hydrological scenarios and therefore can be effectively used for optimal short-term operation.

Inter-annual change of the drought limit water level of a reservoir based on system dynamics

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors took Yuqiao Reservoir in Tianjin as a case study and analyzed inter-annual changes of the drought limit water level, and the water supply volume from 2003 to 2020 was simulated by using the model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Methods for integrating high-resolution land, climate, and infrastructure scenarios in a hydrologic simulation model.

TL;DR: In this article, an integrated framework is presented to quantify the effects of both bio-geophysical and human infrastructures influence on regional surface water hydrology, which enables the integration of high spatial and temporal anthropogenic alterations of water availability for identifying hot-spots and hot-moments of hydrological stresses within individual river segments.

A simulation model for operating a multipurpose multireservoir system

TL;DR: In this article, a mathematical model was used for assessing alternative policies of operation for the Trent River system in Ontario, Canada, which is used for flood control, water supply, hydropower, and augmenting flows through the canal system during the summer period.
