Separation of CH4/CO2/N2 mixtures by layered pressure swing adsorption for upgrade of natural gas

TLDR
In this article, a layered pressure swing adsorption (LPSA) process is proposed to selectively remove carbon dioxide and nitrogen from low and medium natural gas flowrates, which is composed of a zeolite 13X to selectively removing carbon dioxide followed by a layer of carbon molecular sieve 3K to make the separation of nitrogen from methane.

Mathematical Modeling of Gas Adsorption Processes in Packed Bed: The Role of Numerical Methods on Computation Time

TL;DR: Gholami et al. as mentioned in this paper compared the capabilities of two important numerical methods in terms of their computation time and stability, and concluded that the combined method required half as much computation time as the one in which finite difference method was employed to solve the whole equations.
