Separation of CH4/CO2/N2 mixtures by layered pressure swing adsorption for upgrade of natural gas

TLDR
In this article, a layered pressure swing adsorption (LPSA) process is proposed to selectively remove carbon dioxide and nitrogen from low and medium natural gas flowrates, which is composed of a zeolite 13X to selectively removing carbon dioxide followed by a layer of carbon molecular sieve 3K to make the separation of nitrogen from methane.

Sustainable nanoporous carbon for CO2, CH4, N2, H2 adsorption and CO2/CH4 and CO2/N2 separation

TL;DR: In this paper, the porosity, morphology, and composition of the nanoporous carbons were investigated and compared with those of commercially available activated carbon, which implies that the composition of prepared carbon materials plays a significant role in their CO2 adsorption and separation ability, rather than their textural properties.
