Experiments with intense secondary beams of radioactive ions
TL;DR: In this paper, the development, performance and anatomy of a large on-line isotope separator facility, the CERN-ISOLDE, is discussed, and it is shown that the nuclear reaction processes induced with the high-intensity several hundred MeV proton beam can provide secondary radioactive beams in almost all regions of the nuclidic chart with intensities which are not matched by any other method.
Journal ArticleDOI
New techniques at ISOLDE-2
TL;DR: In this article, the beam-optical system at the CERN ISOLDE-2 on-line isotope separator facility has been improved to 1.3 >A and the design value of 5 >A is now within reach.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nuclear Data Sheets for A = 124
J. Katakura,Z.D. Wu +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the 1997 evaluation for A = 124 mass chain (1997Ii01) has been revised using experimental results from decays and reactions and adopted values for the level and decay properties are tabulated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intense Beams of Radioactive Halogens Produced by Means of Surface Ionization
TL;DR: In this article, a negative surface ionization source was developed for on-line separator use in order to make intense ion beams of nuclear reaction produced halogens, i.e. Br and I.
Journal ArticleDOI
Beta-decay energies and masses of short-lived isotopes of rubidium, caesium, francium, and radium
TL;DR: In this paper, the total decay energies have been measured for a number of neutron-deficient Rb and Cs isotopes, as well as for some neutron-rich isotopes of Fr and Ra.

Alpha-decay widths of neutron-deficient francium and astatine isotopes
TL;DR: The use of mass-separated samples of neutron-deficient francium isotopes, produced at the ISOLDE on-line mass separator facility at the CERN 600 MeV synchro-cyclotron, has permitted precise determinations through genetic relationships of α /(EC+ β + ) branching ratios for a range of light fran calcium and astatine isotopes as discussed by the authors.
