TLDR
In this paper, a commercial exfoliated vermiculite was used as an ion exchange medium for the removal of transition metal ions from dilute aqueous solutions, and a simple favorable-equilibrium model for the breakthrough curve was found to fit the data provided the flow rate was less than 1.5 ml/cm2 min.

Removal of Cu(II) in fixed bed and batch reactors using natural zeolite and exfoliated vermiculite as adsorbents

TL;DR: In this paper, the ability of natural zeolite (clinoptilolite) and exfoliated vermiculite to remove copper from aqueous solutions was studied in fixed bed column and batch reactors.

Formation and characterization of polyurethane-vermiculite clay nanocomposite foams

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors synthesize rigid polyurethane foam with unmodified vermiculite clay, and the clay is dispersed either in polyol or isocyanate before blending.

Two-phase homogeneous diffusion model for the fixed bed sorption of heavy metals on natural zeolites

TL;DR: In this paper, a non-dimensional homogeneous solid diffusion model including axial dispersion and equipped with a universal double-selectivity equilibrium model is developed and applied for fixed bed removal in natural zeolites.

Experimental studies and modeling of clinoptilolite and vermiculite fixed beds for Mn2+, Zn2+, and Cr3+ removal

TL;DR: In this paper, batch and fixed bed experiments were conducted in order to compare clinoptilolite and vermiculite for the removal of Mn2+, Zn2+, and Cr3+ from aqueous solutions under the same experimental conditions.

Revitalization of EDTA-remediated soil by fertilization and soil amendments

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of soil remediation on fractionation of soil metals was assessed using modified Tessier sequential extraction procedure, and the soil was further amended with fertilizer (N, K, Mn and Mg), manure, hydrogel, vermiculite, apatite, and commercial absorbent (Slovakite) and subjected to spinach cultivation in a column experiment.

Cation-exchange equilibria with vermiculite

TL;DR: In this paper, the exchange of Na, Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba ions has been studied in the temperature range 25° C-70° C and the preference is less marked between divalent ions.
