Periodic Solutions of Periodic Delay Lotka–Volterra Equations and Systems☆

TL;DR: In this article, sufficient and realistic conditions are obtained for the existence of positive periodic solutions for both periodic Lotka-Volterra equations and systems with distributed or state-dependent delays.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nonlocality of Reaction-Diffusion Equations Induced by Delay: Biological Modeling and Nonlinear Dynamics

TL;DR: In this paper, a short survey on the biological modeling, dynamics analysis, and numerical simulation of nonlocal spatial effects, induced by time delays, in diffusion models for a single species confined to either a finite or an infinite domain is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

The structure of a tropical host-parasitoid community

TL;DR: Connectance and quantitative parasitoid webs are described for a community of leaf-mining insects and their parasitoids in regrowth tropical dry forest in Costa Rica, where leaf-miners were highly host-specific.
Journal ArticleDOI

On a diffusive prey-predator model which exhibits patchiness

TL;DR: It is shown that when the diffusion of the prey is small compared with that of the predator the non-linearity which is called a hump effect in the prey interaction, is a key mechanism for the system to exhibit, asymptotically in time, stable heterogeneity in a bounded domain with zero flux boundary conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Selection, tinkering, and emergence in complex networks

TL;DR: Here different characteristic features of complex nets, as well as their behavior under different sources of perturbation, are considered.
