TLDR
This report includes strategies for treating the incidental waste left in the emptied tanks as non-retrievable heels and methods and materials for physically stabilizing the void space in the tanks to prevent future subsidence.

Data Package for Secondary Waste Form Down-Selection—Cast Stone

TL;DR: Cast Stone is a good candidate waste form for further consideration in the Integrated Disposal Facility (IDF) at Hanford as discussed by the authors, and it meets the target IDF acceptance criteria for compressive strength, no free liquids, TCLP leachate are below the permissible concentrations and leach rates for Na and Tc-99 are suiteably low.

Tanks 18 And 19-F Structural Flowable Grout Fill Material Evaluation And Recommendations

TL;DR: Chander et al. as mentioned in this paper identified a single (all-in-one) grout to stabilize and isolate the residual radionuclides in the tank, provide structural stability of the closed tank and serve as an inadvertent intruder barrier.

Recent progress in doe waste tank closure

TL;DR: An overview of the current regulatory changes and drivers and a summary of the progress in tank closures at the various sites over the intervening six years is presented in this paper, where a number of areas are addressed including closure strategies, characterization of bulk waste and residual heel material, waste removal technologies for bulk waste, heel residuals and annuli, tank fill materials, closure system modeling and performance assessment programs, lessons learned, and external reviews.

The chemistry of cement and concrete

TL;DR: The chemistry of cement and concrete as discussed by the authors, The chemistry of concrete and its properties, and the relationship between concrete and cement, is a classic example of such an approach. But it is not suitable for outdoor use.

Applied Clay Mineralogy

Ralph E. Grim
- 01 Nov 1962 -
TL;DR: In this paper, applied clay mineralogy is studied in the context of meteorology and geology, and the authors propose a method to find the underlying structure of the clays.

Counterion Effects on the Sorption of Cationic Surfactant and Chromate on Natural Clinoptilolite

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of selected counterions (Cl-, Br-, and HSO4-) on the sorption of the cationic surfactant hexadecyltrimethylammonuium (HDTMA) on clinoptilolite zeolite and on subsequent sorption by HDTMA−zeolite was determined.
