Steering of charged particle trajectories by a bent crystal

TLDR
In this article, the first experimental evidence has been obtained for steering of charged particle trajectories by a bent silicon crystal, which corresponds to a bending radius of 38 cm and the effective transverse component of the electric field acting on the proton beam is equal to 240 MV/cm.

Electromagnetic radiation of relativistic channeling particles (the Kumakhov effect)

TL;DR: In this article, a new type of electromagnetic radiation characteristic for channeling in single crystals relativistic particles which has been recently predicted by Kumakhov and proved experimentally is reviewed, observed as one or several strong peaks in the soft part of the Bremsstrahlung, surpassing it by a factor of nearly one hundred.

Detailed investigation of the channeling phenomena involved in bending of high-energy beams by means of crystals

TL;DR: A combination of axial and planar channeling is responsible for the effects observed as discussed by the authors, and computer simulations, based on binary collisions, can explain in detail the experimental findings, and also elucidate important channeling phenomena in the transition region between axial-and planar channels.

Channeling of high-energy particles in bent crystals – Experiments at the CERN SPS

TL;DR: In this paper, an understanding of channeling in a bent crystal with extraction and deflection efficiencies for different energies, crystal types and ions has been developed, which makes extrapolations possible for the construction of an extraction device for the LHC at CERN, RHIC at Brookhaven or new splitting elements in high-energy beams.

Bending of GeV particle beams by channeling in bent crystal planes

TL;DR: In this article, a trajectory model for computing the fraction of particles, F, dechanneled by the bend as a function of pνκ is presented using a geometrical construct, the phase plane.

A novel application of bent crystal channeling to the production of simultaneous particle beams

TL;DR: In this paper, a pair of simultaneous, nearlycollinear beams of long and short-lived neutral kaons has been derived, which form an integral part of an experiment, NA48, at CERN, designed to measure the CP-violation parameter ϵ′ ϵ with high precision.
