Abstract
The phenomenon of stochastic resonance in a simple bistable stochastic system, representing an overdamped Kramers oscillator featuring white noise and a periodic rectangular signal with a constant component, has been studied theoretically and using an analog model. An increase in the constant component, determining a static asymmetry of the potential, leads to a decrease in the signal to noise ratio as compared to the symmetric case.

Stochastic resonance in second-order and underdamped asymmetric bistable system

TL;DR: In this article, a second-order asymmetric bistable system with Gauss white noise is investigated, and the exact expression of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of system response in the presence of weak periodic driving force is obtained under the adiabatic condition and the theory of two-state model intensities.

Stochastic resonance: noise-enhanced order

TL;DR: Stochastic resonance (SR) as mentioned in this paper provides a glaring example of a noise-induced transition in a nonlinear system driven by an information signal and noise simultaneously, and some characteristics of the information signal (amplification factor, signal-to-noise ratio, the degrees of coherence and of order) at the output of the system are significantly improved at a certain optimal noise level.
