Superplasticity in a silicon carbide whisker reinforced aluminum alloy

TLDR
In this article, a silicon carbide whisker-reinforced aluminum alloy (20% SiC fibers in 2024 aluminum) is shown to exhibit tensile ductilities in the order of 300% when deformed under thermal cycling conditions (100 ⇇ 450° C ) and at low stresses ( σ ⋍ 20 MPa ).
