Linarin, a Glycosylated Flavonoid, with Potential Therapeutic Attributes: A Comprehensive Review.

TL;DR: In this paper, a bioactive flavone glycoside linarin (LN) was designated to comprehensively overview its phytochemical and biological properties, particularly, the remedial effects on central nervous system (CNS) disorders, whereas the remarkable sleep enhancing and sedative effects as well as AChE (acetylcholinesterase) inhibitory activity were highlighted.

Valosin-Containing Protein (VCP)/p97: A Prognostic Biomarker and Therapeutic Target in Cancer.

TL;DR: In this paper, a review summarizes the role of VCP/p97 in different cancers and the advances in the discovery of small-molecule inhibitors with therapeutic potential, focusing on the challenges associated with cancer-related VCP mutations in the mechanisms of resistance to inhibitors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrasound-assisted synthesis of pyrimidines and their fused derivatives: A review.

TL;DR: In this article, a detailed summary of the effects of US irradiation on the pyrimidine core derivatization through classical reactions (e.g., multicomponent, cyclocondensation, cycloaddition, and alkylation) is presented, and the main points that were taken into consideration are as follows: chemo-and regioselectivity issues, and results of conventional heating methods compared to US and mechanistic insights that are also presented and discussed for key reactions.

Docking, ADMET prediction, DFT analysis, synthesis, cytotoxicity, antibacterial screening and QSAR analysis of diarylpyrimidine derivatives

TL;DR: In vitro evaluation of cytotoxicity indicates that these molecules were less toxic against HEK293 (Human embryonic kidney) cell lines, and molecular docking assessment revealed that all designed 2,4 disubstituted diarylpyrimidine derivatives showed good interaction within active site of PDF enzyme.

Molecular Structure of Nucleic Acids: A Structure for Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid

James D. Watson, +1 more
- 25 Apr 1953 -
TL;DR: The determination in 1953 of the structure of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), with its two entwined helices and paired organic bases, was a tour de force in X-ray crystallography and opened the way for a deeper understanding of perhaps the most important biological process.

Ionic Liquids in Synthesis

TL;DR: The early years of Ionic liquid production were covered in this article, where a new generation of soluble supports for Supported Organic Synthesis (SPOS) was proposed. But this support was not applied to the task-specific Ionic liquids.

The Antibiotic Resistance Crisis: Part 1: Causes and Threats

TL;DR: Decades after the first patients were treated with antibiotics, bacterial infections have again become a threat because of the rapid emergence of resistant bacteria-a crisis attributed to abuse of these medications and a lack of new drug development.
