TLDR
In this article, receiver operating characteristic graphs are shown to be a variant form of ordinal dominance graphs, and several different methods of constructing confidence intervals for the area measure are presented and the strengths and weaknesses of each of these methods are discussed.

Crypto Exchanges and Credit Risk: Modeling and Forecasting the Probability of Closure

TL;DR: In this article, the determinants surrounding the decision to close an exchange using credit scoring and machine learning techniques were analyzed using a unique dataset of 144 exchanges, active from the first quarter of 2018 to the firstquarter of 2021.

Unified Sample Size Calculations Using the Competing Probability

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose using the competing probability as the only second category quantity when calculating sample sizes for the aforementioned three commonly used tests in clinical trials in order to unify the interpretation of and shed new light on the two-sample t-tests and the logrank tests in terms of sample size calculations.

Analysis of Multispectral Microscope Images Using Neural Networks

TL;DR: In this study, neural networks have been used to classify the clusters in a scatter diagram formed from images in a multispectral set, suggesting that neural nets can provide a useful addition to the current multisectral analysis procedures in materials and surface science.

On enhancing recommender systems by utilizing general social networks combined with users goals and contextual awareness

TL;DR: The proposed solutions cannot be extended directly to General Purpose Social Networks like Facebook and Twitter which are open social networks where users can do a variety of useful actions that can be useful for recommendation, but as they can’t rate items, these information are not possible to be used in recommender systems.

Glistenings in Intraocular lenses and their effect on forward light scatter; an in vitro study

TL;DR: Results of glistening detection, which included their number, size, density and distribution, were correlated with in vitro forward light scatter measurements, suggesting that only high glistenings severity could have an impact on visual function.

On a Test of Whether one of Two Random Variables is Stochastically Larger than the Other

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that the limit distribution is normal if n, n$ go to infinity in any arbitrary manner, where n = m = 8 and n = n = 8.

Consistency and Unbiasedness of Certain Nonparametric Tests

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that there exist strictly unbiased and consistent tests for the univariate and multivariate two-and fc-sample problem, for the hypothesis of independence, and for the hypotheses of symmetry with respect to a given point.

On a Use of the Mann-Whitney Statistic

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a survey of the known properties of the U statistic which are of importance for its use in testing hypotheses and discuss another use of this statistic which has attracted less attention.
