TLDR
In this article, receiver operating characteristic graphs are shown to be a variant form of ordinal dominance graphs, and several different methods of constructing confidence intervals for the area measure are presented and the strengths and weaknesses of each of these methods are discussed.About:

A new diagnostic accuracy measure and cut-point selection criterion.
TL;DR: This paper proposes a new measure named maximum absolute determinant for diseases with k stages ( k ≥ 2 ), which utilizes all the available classification information and serves as a cut-points selection criterion as well.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the analysis of glycomics mass spectrometry data via the regularized area under the ROC curve
TL;DR: The TGDR-AUC algorithm relaxes the normality and independence assumptions from previous literatures and yields good performance in combining potential biomarkers and is computationally feasible.

AUC maximization linear classifier based on active learning and its application
Guang Han,Chunxia Zhao +1 more
TL;DR: Using the proposed AUC maximization linear classifier method can significantly reduce the workload of labeling the samples and size of the sample set, and A UC maximization proposed also excels the existing methods.

Contributions of personality dimensions to spontaneous and deliberate information processing in the guilty actions test.
Liza Zvi,Eitan Elaad +1 more
TL;DR: The contribution of the Big-Five personality dimensions and locus of control to examinees' physiological responses in the Concealed Information polygraph Test was examined for the first time and results were explained by different information processing styles associated with these personality dimensions during various stages of the test.

Ricean over Gaussian modelling in magnitude fMRI Analysis-Added Complexity with Negligible Practical Benefits.
TL;DR: Experimental evaluations using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve methodology show that tests derived using Ricean modelling are substantially superior over the Gaussian‐based activation tests only for SNRs below 0.6, that is, SNR values far lower than those encountered in fMRI as currently practiced.

Consistency and Unbiasedness of Certain Nonparametric Tests
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that there exist strictly unbiased and consistent tests for the univariate and multivariate two-and fc-sample problem, for the hypothesis of independence, and for the hypotheses of symmetry with respect to a given point.
On a Use of the Mann-Whitney Statistic
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a survey of the known properties of the U statistic which are of importance for its use in testing hypotheses and discuss another use of this statistic which has attracted less attention.
