In this article, a coordinate expansion is used to converge for all values of the expansion variable, and an alternative series expansion is derived to derive solutions valid for small or large values of Prandtl number.
Abstract
infinite expanse of viscous fluid. The heat resistance of the sheet is assumed to ble so small that the temperature can be considered uniform across the sheet. Precise conditions for this assumption to be valid are derived. The problem is solved first by means of a coordinate expansion, which can be proved to converge for all values of the expansion variable. Since this series cannot be used numerically downstream, an alternative series expansion, which applies downstream, is also derived. Special sections are devoted to deriving solutions valid for small or large values of the Prandtl number. Finally, expressions are obtained for the Nusselt number and the cooling length. It is found that cooling is determined by the smaller of two diffusivities, namely, the kinematic viscosity and the thermal diffusivity.

Falkner–Skan boundary layer flow of a power-law fluid past a stretching wedge

TL;DR: The steady two-dimensional laminar boundary layer flow of a power-law fluid past a permeable stretching wedge beneath a variable free stream is studied and it is found that dual solutions exist for each value of f0, m and n considered in λ − f″(0) parameter space.

The cooling of a low-heat-resistance stretching sheet moving through a fluid: A rejoinder

TL;DR: In this paper, it is shown that there is no loss of accuracy in the higher order perturbations, as claimed by Kuiken, and a comparison of the results of Euler transformation with those of Kuiken (based on direct and inverse series) show the agreement to four places of decimal for all values of steamwise distances.

Flow and heat transfer in a moving fluid over a moving flat surface

TL;DR: In this article, a numerical analysis of the momentum and heat transfer of an incompressible fluid past a parallel moving sheet based on composite reference velocity U is carried out, where a single set of equations has been formulated for both momentum and thermal boundary layer problems.

Mixed convection flow over a vertical power‐law stretching sheet

TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered steady two-dimensional mixed convection flow along a vertical semi-infinite power-law stretching sheet, where the velocity and temperature of the sheet are assumed to vary in a power•law form.
