TL;DR: Although action recommendations have a greater effect on successful error resolution than diagnosis information (feedback), the feedback likely helps ameliorate the deleterious effects of noise and it is found that error recovery interfaces should display both diagnosis and action recommendations for maximum effectiveness.

Developing and Validating an Interactive Training Tool for Inferring 2D Cross-Sections of Complex 3D Structures.

TL;DR: This work has developed the first domain-agnostic, computer-based training tool for cross-section understanding of complex 3D structures and demonstrates, in an evaluation with 60 participants, that this interactive tool is effective for increasing cross- section inference skills for a variety of structures.
