Abstract
We present the superconformal gauge theory living on the world-volume of D3 branes probing the toric singularities with horizon the recently discovered Sasaki-Einstein manifolds Lp,q,r. Various checks of the identification are made by comparing the central charge and the R-charges of the chiral fields with the information that can be extracted from toric geometry. Fractional branes are also introduced and the physics of the associated duality cascade discussed.

Gauge theories from toric geometry and brane tilings

TL;DR: In this paper, a general set of rules for extracting the data defining a quiver gauge theory from a given toric Calabi-Yau singularity is provided, combining information from the geometry and topology of Sasaki-Einstein manifolds, AdS/CFT, dimers, and brane tilings.

Sasaki-Einstein manifolds and volume minimisation

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the volume function of a Sasaki-Einstein manifold is a function on the space of Reeb vector fields, and that it can be computed in terms of topological fixed point data.

Counting BPS operators in gauge theories: quivers, syzygies and plethystics

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a method of counting single-trace and multi-trace BPS operators with two supercharges, for world-volume gauge theories of D-brane probes for both $N \to \infty$ and finite $N$.

Quivers, tilings, branes and rhombi

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple algorithm was proposed to compute the brane tilings for a given generic toric singular Calabi-Yau threefold, which gave AdS/CFT dual quiver gauge theories for D3-branes probing the given non-compact manifold.

Introduction to Toric Varieties.

TL;DR: In this article, a mini-course is presented to develop the foundations of the study of toric varieties, with examples, and describe some of these relations and applications, concluding with Stanley's theorem characterizing the number of simplicies in each dimension in a convex simplicial polytope.

Supergravity and a confining gauge theory: duality cascades and χSB-resolution of naked singularities

TL;DR: In this article, a non-singular pure-supergravity background dual to the field theory on all scales, with small curvature everywhere if the ‘t Hooft coupling gsM is large, was proposed.

Superconformal field theory on threebranes at a Calabi-Yau singularity

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that string theory on AdS5 × X5 can be described by a certain N = 1 supersymmetric gauge theory, which we describe in detail.

Type iib superstrings, bps monopoles, and three-dimensional gauge dynamics

TL;DR: In this article, the Coulomb branch of certain three-dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories and the moduli spaces of magnetic monopoles are explained via string theory, and new phase transitions in three dimensions as well as new infrared fixed points and even new coupling constants are predicted from the string theory construction.
