Use of Copper Microparticles in SEBS/PP Compounds. Part 1: Effects on Morphology, Thermal, Physical, Mechanical and Antibacterial Properties

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of the addition of copper microparticles on the morphological, thermal, physical and mechanical behavior and antibacterial properties of a blend composed by styrene-(ethylene-butylene)-styrene triblock copolymer (SEBS) and polypropylene (PP) homopolymer were investigated.

Selection criteria for recycled polyolefins from urban wastes by using TG analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, the thermal behavior of a mixture of recycled polyolefins (PE/PP mix), variously colored recycled polyolesfins, recycling polyolefin blends and recycled polyolfin/PET blends was analyzed by thermogravimetry.

Desenvolvimento de compósitos antimicrobianos a base de SEBS/PP aditivados com partículas de cobre

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of the addition of copper microparticles (CuMP) e nanoparticles (cuNP) as an antimicrobial agent in composites with polymeric matrix based on SEBS / PP were investigated.

Weathering Degradation of Polymers

TL;DR: The structures of polymers based on several kinds of bonds are always subjected to the modifications, when they are placed in specific conditions as discussed by the authors, and the activities where polymer items are involved depend entirely on the material strength to the energy transfer from the surrounding space.

Oxidation inhibition in organic materials

TL;DR: In this paper, a two volume publication provides an overview of processes developed to inhibit oxidative deterioration of organic materials, including the major mechanisms involved, oxidation inhibitors classes, and practices in oxidation inhibition.

Role of metals and metal-deactivators in polymer degradation

TL;DR: In this article, the role of metal compounds in the degradation of polyolefins has been investigated and some typical examples of degradation by metallic compounds, mostly commercial pigments and transition metal compounds of stearic acid and acetylacetone, in typical commercial polymers are discussed.

Chemiluminescence from peroxides in polypropylene. Part I: Relation of luminescence to peroxide content

TL;DR: The weak chemiluminescence observed when partially oxidised samples of polypropylene are heated in an inert atmosphere has been studied as a function of oxidation as discussed by the authors, and the integrated luminescence is shown to be proportional to titratable peroxides in the early stages of oxidation but the relation is curved at higher oxidation levels.

DTA for control of stability in polyolefin wire and cable compounds

TL;DR: Differential thermal analysis offers a convenient and rapid way of determining stabilization levels in polyolefin compositions as discussed by the authors, however, because the chemistry of the polymer system at these temperatures may be quite different from that at normal use temperatures, judgment must be exercised in attempting to extrapolate high temperature data.
