Differentiation and Quantification of Free Chlorine and Inorganic Chloramines in Aqueous Solution by MIMS
Chii Shang,Ernest R. Blatchley +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a membrane introduction mass spectrometric (MIMS) method was developed for the detection of free chlorine and inorganic chloramines in aqueous solution.
Journal ArticleDOI
DBPs removal in GAC filter-adsorber.
Jinkeun Kim,Byeongsoo Kang +1 more
TL;DR: At the early stage of GAC FA operation, HAA(5) removal was largely due to physical adsorption, but later on biodegradation appeared to prevail, and was significantly influenced by water temperature, while better manganese removal was confirmed in the sand filter rather than in the GACFA.

Recent Developments in Homogeneous Advanced Oxidation Processes for Water and Wastewater Treatment
Manickavachagam Muruganandham,Manickavachagam Muruganandham,Rominder P.S. Suri,Sh. Jafari,Mika Sillanpää,Gang-Juan Lee,Jerry J. Wu,Meenakshisundaram Swaminathan +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report on recent developments in homogeneous Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) for the treatment of water and wastewater for degradation and mineralization of recalcitrant pollutants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chlorine attack on reverse osmosis membranes: Mechanisms and mitigation strategies
TL;DR: Aromatic polyamide has emerged as the most prominent material for thin-film composite (TFC) reverse osmosis and nanofiltration membranes as discussed by the authors, but these membranes are susceptible to free chlorine attack, and lose their performance after about 1000ppm/h of chlorine exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Efficiency of Disinfection of Acidic Electrolyzed Water in the Presence of Organic Materials
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the bactericidal activity of the acidic electrolyzed water deteriorates in the presence of organic materials, which include amino acids and proteins, and that the use of the acidified water is in many cases severely hampered due to a variety of non-selective reducing agents.
