Risk Factors for Suicide and Attempted Suicide among Young People
TL;DR: Current research evidence suggests that the strongest risk factors for youth suicide are mental disorders (in particular, affective disorders, substance use disorders and antisocial behaviours) and a history of psychopathology, indicating that priorities for intervening to reduce youth suicidal behaviours lie with interventions focused upon the improved recognition, treatment and management of young people with mental disorders.

The measurement of pessimism: the hopelessness scale.
TL;DR: A scale designed to quantify hopelessness was administered to several diverse samples of patients to assess its psychometric properties and was found to have a high degree of internal consistency and showed a relatively high correlation with the clinical ratings of hopelessness and other self-administered measures of despair.
