Vibrational spectroscopy of cation‐site interactions in phosphate glasses

TL;DR: In this paper, the properties of the metaphosphate vibration in binary metal oxide glasses have been investigated and it has been shown that the vibrational frequency of the metal cation and the glass network is correlated with its mass, charge, and ionic radius.
Journal ArticleDOI

Types of "H2O" in human enamel and in precipitated apatites.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the loss of “H2O” below 200°C is reversible and causes no significant change in the lattice parameter of these apatites, whereas loss of H2O between 200° and 400°C are irreversible and causes a contraction in the α-axis dimension.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural investigations of phosphate glasses: a detailed infrared study of the x(PbO)-(1−x) P2O5 vitreous system

TL;DR: In this article, an extensive experimental study of infrared spectra of the x (PbO)-(1−x)P2O5 vitreous system (x=0.3-0.75) together with a brief review of the spectral properties of phosphate compounds is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Infra‐red analysis of phosphorus compounds

TL;DR: A spectra-structure correlation chart for phosphorus compounds is presented in this paper, and the existing evidence for these correlations is summarized in Table 1 : 1.1 The use of this data for qualitative identification is discussed, and examples of the use of the pressed disc technique for quantitative work.
