TLDR
In this paper, the rate coefficients for ternary association reactions of CH 3 + and CD 3 + with H 2, N 2, O 2 CO and CO 2 N 2 + with N 2 and D 2 have been measured within the temperature range 80-520 K in helium buffer gas.

Ion-Molecule Reactions

P. F. Knewstubb

TL;DR: McDaniel et al. as mentioned in this paper presented a series of experiments in Atomic and Molecular Collisional Processes (AOMCPs) and showed that collisional processes can be solved by ion reactions.

The Selected Ion Flow Tube (Sift): Studies of Ion-Neutral Reactions

TL;DR: The Selected Ion Flow Tube (SIFT) as mentioned in this paper is an extension of the Flowing Afterglow (FA) technique for ion-neutral reactions under truly thermal conditions, where the ion source gas is excluded from the carrier gas and therefore from the reaction zone.

Study of the reactions N+2+2N2→N+4+N2 and O+2+2O2→O+4+O2 from 20 to 160 K by the CRESU technique

TL;DR: In this article, the rate coefficients k1 and k2 for the association reaction N+2+2 N2→k1N+4+N2 and O+ 2+2 O2 →k2O+4 +O2 in the temperature range 20-160 K, using a supersonic jet apparatus (CRESU), were determined.

Advances in Determining the Absolute Proton Affinities of Neutral Organic Molecules in the Gas Phase and Their Interpretation: A Theoretical Account

TL;DR: Evidence provided by this Review shows that the coalescence of experimental and theoretical/computational work is not only highly desirable for that purpose, but, in fact, greatly needed.

Experimental studies on cluster ions

TL;DR: Cluster ions are a nonrigid assembly of components having properties between those of large gas phase molecules and the bulk condensed state as discussed by the authors, and they are used for fuel injection into fusion reactors and cluster ions are also present in other high-temperature systems such as those designed as sources of energy employing magnets and hydrodynamics.

Ion-Neutral Reaction-Rate Constants Measured in Flow Reactors through 1977

TL;DR: The rate constants of ion-neutral reactions with flowing-after-glow, flow-drift, and selected-ion flow tubes have been compiled in this paper, where the data for both positive and negative ion reactions are included and arranged for access by the reactant ion, reactant neutral, and product ion.

A statistical theory of three‐body ion–molecule reactions

TL;DR: In this paper, a theory of three-body ion-molecule reactions at low pressures is presented, which incorporates the principle of detailed balancing, and agreement between theory and recent experiments on a variety of polyatomic reactive systems is assessed and found to be satisfactory.
