Mechanical and morphological properties of fly ash/epoxy composites using conventional thermal and microwave curing methods

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the properties of fly ash/epoxy composites and found that the tensile and flexural moduli of the composites increased with increasing fly ash content while the effect became opposite for tensile, flexural and impact strengths, and tensile strain at break.

Curing characteristics, tensile properties and morphology of palm ash/halloysite nanotubes/ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) hybrid composites

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of palm ash/halloysite nanotube weight ratio on the curing characteristics, tensile properties and morphology of the hybrid composites were studied, which indicated that HNTs has better adhesion to the EPDM matrix as compared to palm ash.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanical behavior of GRP pressure pipes with addition of quartz sand filler

TL;DR: In this article, an alternative to reduce the final price of glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) pipes is the addition of quartz sand filler, which can reduce the cost of fabrication.
