Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of dynamic tension/compression loading on selective laser sintered components in polyamide was analyzed and it was shown that crack initiation starts from inclusions in the material caused by unfused powder particles, leading to the formation of semi-spherical depressions with raised edges.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The biodegradability of PHBV containing 3 mol% of hydroxyvalerate (HV) was tested under composting conditions on both a pilot and a laboratory scale and it was found that the biodegradation behavior ofPHBV in the pilot-scale composting Conditions was similar with that in the laboratory-scale.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the shape of a cruciform type specimen under biaxial loading conditions is optimized using a numerical optimisation technique (sequential quadratic programming or SQP) coupled with a parametrically built finite element model (FEM) to concentrate and initiate damage in the center and achieve a uniform strain field by varying the geometrical characteristics of the specimen.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the same frequency and temperature using quasi-isothermal conditions in both instruments were compared with three different polymer samples and it was found that when choosing a suitable response parameter, i.e. the phase angle, the dynamic glass transition temperature values obtained by both methods are practically the same.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of palm ash/halloysite nanotube weight ratio on the curing characteristics, tensile properties and morphology of the hybrid composites were studied, which indicated that HNTs has better adhesion to the EPDM matrix as compared to palm ash.
