Abstract:

How Many Cancer Patients Use Complementary and Alternative Medicine: A Systematic Review and Metaanalysis
TL;DR: The overall prevalence of CAM use found was lower than often claimed, however, there was some evidence that the use has increased considerably over the past years and the health care systems ought to implement clear strategies of how to deal with this.

TL;DR: The findings demonstrate biological activity of these natural products when presented at ultra-diluted doses and further in-depth studies with additional cell lines and animal models are warranted to explore the clinical applicability of these agents.

TL;DR: Breast cancer patients are common users of CAM concomitantly to their conventional cancer treatments and should be investigated regarding their current consumption of CAM, and they need advice evidence-based data on these treatments and potential interactions with on-going treatments.

TL;DR: A "two-step" mechanism of the induction of apoptosis in tumor cells by calcarea carbonica is indicated i.e., activation of the immune system of the host and induction of cancer cell apoptosis via immuno-modulatory circuit in p53-dependent manner by down-regulating Bcl-2:Bax ratio.

TL;DR: Preliminary laboratory evidence indicating the ability of homeopathic medicines as anticancer agents is provided, although to a lesser degree in the ultra-diluted molecular preparations is warranted.
