In particular, unlike traditional network-based communication, the proposed sensing-enabled channels cannot be detected by monitoring the cellular or wireless communication networks.
In this paper we propose a mechanism for a channel monitoring station to efficiently derive accurate values of channel load. We especially focus on optimizing the duration of channel monitoring and thus minimize the impact on applications.
We also devise a seamless multi-channel monitoring method to recognize channel states without performance degradation.
Further, the proposed method can be useful if one needs to check the operational status of a sensing network right after its installation.
This knowledge can be used to inform the design, implementation, and communication of monitoring systems.
The results show that this method is useful for inservice performance monitoring of such a communication channel.
