TL;DR: An electric roach trap comprising a housing with three spaced apart conductors composed of a water pan conductor, a floor and wall conductor and a bait holder conductor is described in this article.
Abstract: An electric roach trap comprising a housing with three spaced apart conductors composed of a water pan conductor, a floor and wall conductor and a bait holder conductor. These conductors are connected to an outside power source so that when a roach enters the trap and contacts simultaneously two of these spaced apart conductors, the roach will be electrocuted. The electric roach trap of this invention is safe to handle, easy to clean, has shock proof protection for humans and pets, and has special features such as a window to see into the trap to see if it contains dead roaches and should be cleaned and an indicator light to tell when the trap has power and is operational when it is located in a dark area. An additional feature is that the trap is shock proof in that electrical current to the trap is terminated when the trap is opened by removing the top housing from the bottom housing.

TL;DR: In this article, a model simulating the behavior of the porous ceramic trap was developed, based on the assumption that the pore size of the trap combined with the particle size distribution resulting from the trap oxidising activity defines two areas of trap operation: (i) accumulation when no pass-through is permitted, and (ii) continuous regeneration when pass through is permitted.
Abstract: A model simulating the behavior of the porous ceramic trap was developed. The model is based on the assumption that the pore size of the trap combined with the particle size distribution resulting from the trap oxidising activity defines two areas of trap operation: (i) accumulation when no pass-through is permitted, and (ii) continuous regeneration when pass-through is permitted. The mathematical evaluation of the model demonstrates that regeneration depends on the ratio of space-time and oxidation process time constant.

TL;DR: In this paper, an interface circuit is used to control the unloading of a host computer system onto a peripheral processor unit, which is initiated by a range of instruction addresses from the peripheral unit, and any instruction address less than a predetermined critical value initiates the trap I/O mode.
Abstract: An interface circuit controls the unloading of a host computer system onto a peripheral processor unit. The interface circuit has a normal mode of operation which is independent of the host computer. During the normal mode, the peripheral unit processes data previously supplied by the host computer. The interface device has a trap I/O mode of operation in which information flows between the host computer and the peripheral unit. The trap I/O mode is initiated by a range of instruction addresses from the peripheral unit. In one embodiment, any instruction address less than a predetermined critical value initiates the trap I/O mode. The host computer acknowledges the trap I/O mode, and executes the instruction at the host level to advance the peripheral process. In the trap I/O mode, the peripheral processor operates simultaneous with and independently of the peripheral unit to permit unloading of the host computer. In addition, the peripheral unit has a faster clock and more operating bits than the host system; and can accelerate the processing of the host data.

TL;DR: In this article, a check valve and a float valve are formed for the liquid surface change of heat medium in the first liquid trap and the second liquid trap, respectively, in order to move heat from upper side to lower side automatically.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To permit to move heat from upper side to lower side automatically by a method wherein a radiator at the lower part from a heat sink, the first liquid trap having cooling function at the lower part are provided and the second liquid trap is provided on the lower part from the radiator while closed pipe paths connected by pipe paths through a float valve and a check valve are formed for the liquid surface change of heat medium in the first liquid trap and the second liquid trap. CONSTITUTION:In the condition that the level of the heat medium 5 in the second liquid trap 8 rises and it has become higher than fixed value, the float valve 9B is opened and the float valve 9A is closed by driving of the float valve 11A. The heat medium 5 evaporated by heating at the heat sink 1 passes through a steam pipine 4 and rises the pressure of the second liquid trap 8 through the float 9B and it is led by steam pressure difference of the heat medium 5 through the chek valve 10B and the liquid piping 3 and is stored to the first liquid trap 7 kept in low pressure by the cooling function of cooling fins 6 for the heating device 5 in the liquid stored, thereafter, the level of the heating medium 5 in the second liquid trap 8 is discended. In the condition that the level of the heating medium 5 in the second liquid trap 8 descends and it has become lower than the fixed value, the action ascending the level of the heating medium may be effected automatically.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a coupling carrier with a flexible cable that has one end secured to the housing and an opposite end extending out of the housing which is engageable in the coupling trap of an adjacent carrier.
Abstract: A device for coupling carriers comprises a housing adapted to be mounted on the carrier and having a face with an opening forming a coupling trap. A flexible cable has one end secured to the housing and an opposite end extending out of the housing which has a plug thereon which is engageable in the coupling trap of an adjacent carrier. The housing also carries a releasable lock which is engageable with the plug to hold it in the trap when it is inserted therein. The device operates electrically under the control of a coin which passes through a coin chute in the housing and actuates an electrical switch which has an actuator portion in the chute. The switch is connected to the lock and it releases the lock and traps the coin in the chute so as to permit release of the plug from the trap and use of the carrier. When the carrier is returned and the plug is again inserted into the trap, the coin is released.

TL;DR: In this article, a hydraulic trap in the form of a purge well was proposed for the Forwell collector well K-71, which will protect the collector from contamination by contaminants migrating downgradient from the old Breslube waste disposal site.
Abstract: A hydraulic trap in the form of a purge well is proposed for the Forwell collector well K-71. The trap, which will protect well K-71 from contamination by contaminants migrating downgradient from the old Breslube waste disposal site, is based on a qualitative flow net obtained from a finite-element model of the Forwell Aquifer. The trap constitutes pumping at the position of observation well OW 9-80 at a continuous rate of at least 6.1 X 10-3 m3/s. The uniqueness of the trap lies in its simplicity and relatively low cost.

TL;DR: In this article, a thermodynamic steam trap with a bellows-actuated thermostatic valve is described, where the trap operates in a first mode in which, in normal operation, it discharges condensate at a temperature close to saturated steam temperature.
Abstract: In a bellows-actuated thermostatic steam trap (A) having a bellows (41) carrying a valve member (45) of a valve (45/22) for opening and closing the trap, the bellows is disposed between connections (20/21 and 30/31) which are identical to one another so as to be selectively connectable in a steam flow line with the valve (45/22) disposed either downstream of, or upstream of, the bellows (41). The trap includes a metal housing (11/12), the mass of which constitutes at least 70% of the mass of the trap. The trap operates, when connected with the valve disposed downstream of the bellows, in a first mode in which, in normal operation, the trap discharges condensate at a temperature close to saturated steam temperature. When connected with the valve disposed upstream of the bellows, the valve operates in a second mode in which in normal operation condensate is discharged at a temperature significantly below steam temperature. One or other of these modes can be simply obtained, merely be selecting which way round the trap is connected in a flow line.

TL;DR: In this article, a single-chip microprogram sequence controller can be selectively operated in either an interrupt mode or a trapped mode, where the currently-executing microinstruction is allowed to finish execution before beginning the interrupt routine which services the asynchronous event which requested the interruption of the presently executing micro-instruction stream.
Abstract: A single-chip microprogram sequence controller which can be selectively operated in either an interrupt mode or a trapped mode. In the interrupt mode, the microprogram sequencer allows the currently-executing microinstruction to finish execution before beginning the interrupt routine which services the asynchronous event which requested the interruption of the presently-executing microinstruction stream. In the trap mode, the sequencer aborts the currently-executing microinstruction to avoid an irreversible error which would result if the microinstruction were to finish execution before beginning the routine which services the event which requested trapping of the presently-executing microinstruction. Depending on the mode selected, the sequencer stores the address on a last-in, first-out stack of either the next-following microinstruction or the currently-executing microinstruction for return to the proper point in the microinstruction stream upon completion of the routine which requested the interrupt or the trap.

TL;DR: In this paper, a trap is divided into plural parts with respect to the face in a flow path direction further providing an optional clearance in said divided face so as to form a release space from thermal expansion of the trap.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a crack in a trap while excessive accumulation of particulates due to a lapse of time, by dividing the trap into plural parts with respect to the face in a flow path direction further providing an optional clearance in said divided face so as to form a release space from thermal expansion of the trap. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust, allowed to flow in inlet side opening cells 9A and pass through a porous thin wall 8 and through a neighboring outlet opening cell, is discharged to the downstream side of a trap 10. Here particulates are collectively caught by the porous thin wall 8, but the particulates, if its amount exceeds a certain value, is burnt by a burner, reproducing the trap 10. A crack can be prevented from its generation because a trap 10A and a trap 10B, even if they are thermally expanded by combustion heat when the trap is reproduced, are absorbed by a clearance 11. While a pressure rise of exhaust in the upstream of the trap 10 can be prevented because the exhaust is mostly discharged through the clearance 11 if an accumulation amount of the particulates increase above a certain value.

TL;DR: In this article, two filter circuits are provided to pre-emphasize the horizontal scan frequency component in compression mode and to de-emphasis it in a stretching mode respectively, and the general frequency characteristic is flattened.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To flat a frequency characteristic by providing two filter circuits to pre-emphasize the horizontal scan frequency component in a compression mode and to de-emphasize said component in a stretching mode respectively. CONSTITUTION:An encoder produces a wave detection output proportional to the level of the output signal of a waiting circuit 8 through a wave detecting circuit 9. Thus a variable gain amplifier 5 is controlled and a dynamic range is compressed. It is possible to obtain the encoder characteristics where a compressing action is suppressed by a half trap 7 at frequencies fV and fH. The decoder performs the de-emphasizing actions through emphasizing circuits 14 and 16. A half trap 17 and a waiting circuit 18 correspond to the trap 7 and the circuit 8 respectively. The disturbance wave components of frequencies fV and fH are attenuated by the trap 7, and the effect of said wave components is attenuated. Then the control voltage is outputted from a wave detecting circuit 19. The general frequency characteristic is flattened.
