Journal ArticleDOI

The Scirtothrips dorsalis Species Complex: Endemism and Invasion in a Global Pest.

TL;DR: The development of a comprehensive DNA barcode library for Scirtothrips dorsalis and seven nuclear markers via next-generation sequencing for identification use within the complex and the delimitation of nine cryptic species and two morphologically distinguishable species comprising the S. dorsalis species complex are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel mitochondrial genome architecture in thrips (Insecta: Thysanoptera): extreme size asymmetry among chromosomes and possible recent control region duplication

TL;DR: Thysanoptera, along with the other minor paraenopteran insect orders, should be considered models for rapid mitochondrial genome evolution, including fragmentation, to facilitate a greater understanding of recombination and other mitochondrial genome evolutionary processes across eukaryotes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Testing host‐associated differentiation in a quasi‐endophage and a parthenogen on native trees

TL;DR: It is found that the quasi‐endophage is panmictic, whereas the parthenogen exhibits HAD on their sympatric host plants, pecan and water hickory, at a geographic mesoscale.
