Characterization of oil sands naphthenic acids treated with ultraviolet and microwave radiation by negative ion electrospray Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry.
John V. Headley,Kerry M. Peru,Sabyasachi Mishra,Sabyasachi Mishra,Venkatesh Meda,Ajay K. Dalai,Dena W. McMartin,Mmilili M. Mapolelo,Ryan P. Rodgers,Alan G. Marshall +9 more
TL;DR: F Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS) is applied to further characterize NAs treated with UV and microwave treatments to provide insights for distinguishing naturally derived oil sands components from those that are process-related in aquatic environments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Supercritical water gasification of biomass in diamond anvil cells and fluidized beds
TL;DR: In this article, the potential of diamond anvil cells in studying the involved chemical reactions, thermodynamics, and phase behavior of biomass components during gasification is discussed, and the caliber of fluidized beds in continuously gasifying biomass for hydrogen production in supercritical water is also documented.
Book ChapterDOI
A Broad Introduction to First-, Second-, and Third-Generation Biofuels
TL;DR: This chapter comprehensively focuses on various first-, second-, and third-generation biofuels with emphasis on their biomass sources, fuel properties, and applications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Amine and aldehyde functionalized mesoporous silica on magnetic nanoparticles for enhanced lipase immobilization, biodiesel production, and facile separation
TL;DR: In this paper, the mesoporous silica magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) were used for the immobilization of a rhizopus oryzae lipase (ROL) that was used for biodiesel synthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Pretreatment on Physicochemical Properties and Performance of Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube Supported Cobalt Catalyst for Fischer–Tropsch Synthesis
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of different nitric acid concentrations (35, 50, 70 wt %) on the physicochemical properties of multiwalled carbon nanotubes was investigated.
