TL;DR: David W. Macdonald and Ewan A. Bothwell as discussed by the authors presented a survey of women in the field of political science, focusing on gender, race, and race relations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Documenting the demise of tiger and leopard, and the status of other carnivores and prey, in Lao PDR's most prized protected area: Nam Et - Phou Louey
TL;DR: The most recent assessment of animal diversity and status in the Nam Et - Phou Louey National Protected Area (NEPL) is presented in this paper, based on camera trap surveys from 2013 to 2017, facilitating an assessment of protected area management to date.
Journal ArticleDOI
Temporal partitioning by felids, dholes and their potential prey in northern Laos
TL;DR: For carnivore species in northern Laos that are most similar in body size and diet, temporal partitioning is likely to be an important mechanism of coexistence, and otherwise, temporal patterns appear to be synchronized with their main prey.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predicting biodiversity richness in rapidly changing landscapes: climate, low human pressure or protection as salvation?
David W. Macdonald,Luca Chiaverini,Helen M. Bothwell,Helen M. Bothwell,Żaneta Kaszta,Eric Ash,Gilmoore Bolongon,Özgün Emre Can,Ahimsa Campos-Arceiz,Phan Channa,Phan Channa,Gopalasamy Reuben Clements,Andrew J. Hearn,Laurie Hedges,Saw Htun,Saw Htun,Jan F. Mark Rayan,Joanna Ross,Priya Singh,Priya Singh,Cedric Kai Wei Tan,Jamie Wadey,Bhupendra P. Yadav,Samuel A. Cushman,Samuel A. Cushman +33 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a large and geographically extensive remote-camera survey and multi-scale, multivariate optimization species distribution modeling to investigate the factors driving biodiversity across these two adjoining biodiversity hotspots.
Journal ArticleDOI
Density trends of wild felids in northern Laos
TL;DR: In this article, the authors estimated the density trends from 2013 to 2017 of the clouded leopard Neofelis nebulosa, leopard cat Prionailurus bengalensis, and marbled cat Pardofels marmorata in Nam Et-Phou Louey National Park (NEPL), Laos.
