Journal ArticleDOI
Multidisciplinary molecular tumour board: a tool to improve clinical practice and selection accrual for clinical trials in patients with cancer.
Christian Rolfo,Paolo Manca,Roberto Salgado,Peter van Dam,Amélie Dendooven,Andreia Coelho,Jose Ferri Gandia,Annemie Rutten,Willem Lybaert,Joanna Vermeij,Thomas Gevaert,Christine Weyn,Anneke Lefebure,Sofie Metsu,Steven Van Laere,Marc Peeters,Patrick Pauwels +16 more
TL;DR: The MTB allows patients with refractory cancer to be included in clinical trials and improves the precision of clinical decisions compared with a standardised set of mutation-driven recommendations.
Posted ContentDOI
Organ-specific genome diversity of replication-competent SARS-CoV-2.
Jolien Van Cleemput,Willem van Snippenberg,Laurens Lambrechts,Laurens Lambrechts,Amélie Dendooven,Amélie Dendooven,Valentino D’Onofrio,Liesbeth Couck,Wim Trypsteen,Jan Vanrusselt,Sebastiaan Theuns,Nick Vereecke,Thierry P P van den Bosch,Martin Lammens,Ann Driessen,Ruth Achten,Ken R. TL;DR: A detailed virological analysis of thirteen postmortem COVID-19 cases confirms two stages of fatal disease evolution based on disease duration and viral loads in lungs and plasma and is the first to provide proof of viremia and presence of replication-competent SARS-CoV-2 in extrapulmonary organs of an immunocompromised patient.
Journal ArticleDOI
Selective abdominal venous congestion induces adverse renal and hepatic morphological and functional alterations despite a preserved cardiac function
Jirka Cops,Wilfried Mullens,Frederik H. Verbrugge,Quirine Swennen,Bart De Moor,Carmen Reynders,Joris Penders,Ruth Achten,Ann Driessen,Amélie Dendooven,Jean-Michel Rigo,Dominique Hansen +11 more
TL;DR: Adverse short-term hepatic morphological alterations were developed which explain the observed organ function dysfunction and provide relevant insight in the pathophysiology of abdominal congestion on organ function.
Journal ArticleDOI
Wolf in Sheep's Clothing: Primary Lung Cancer Mimicking Benign Entities.
Annemie Snoeckx,Amélie Dendooven,Laurens Carp,Damien Desbuquoit,M. Spinhoven,Patrick Lauwers,Paul Van Schil,Jan P. van Meerbeeck,Paul M. Parizel +8 more
TL;DR: A pictorial review of the wide imaging spectrum of CT-findings as well as radiologic-pathologic correlation of these uncommon lung cancer manifestations is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognosis and treatment of FOLFOX therapy related interstitial pneumonia: a plea for multimodal immune modulating therapy in the respiratory insufficient patient.
TL;DR: Oncologists and critical care specialists are urged to limit their interventions to the discontinuation of chemotherapy, artificial ventilation, corticosteroids and glutathione replenishment and to consider the gradual introduction of additional immune-modulating agents whenever life-threatening respiratory symptoms in oxaliplatin-treated patients do not subside.
