Journal ArticleDOI
The Dual Role of Surfactant Protein-D in Vascular Inflammation and Development of Cardiovascular Disease.
TL;DR: In general, SP-D shows anti-inflammatory properties, and dampens local inflammation in the vessel, as well as systemic inflammation, but can also exert a pro-inflammatory role, as it stimulates C-C chemokine receptor 2 inflammatory blood monocytes to secrete tumor necrosis-factor α and increases secretion of interferon-γ from natural killer cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surfactant Protein D Deficiency Aggravates Cigarette Smoke-Induced Lung Inflammation by Upregulation of Ceramide Synthesis.
Bartosz Pilecki,Helle Wulf-Johansson,Christian Støttrup,Patricia Troest Jorgensen,Pascal Djiadeu,Anders Bathum Nexøe,Anders Schlosser,Søren Hansen,Jens Madsen,Jens Madsen,Howard Clark,Howard Clark,Claus Henrik Nielsen,Jørgen Vestbo,Jørgen Vestbo,Nades Palaniyar,Uffe Holmskov,Grith Lykke Sørensen +17 more
TL;DR: It is indicated thatSP-D deficiency aggravates CS-induced lung inflammation partly through regulation of ceramide synthesis and that local SP-D enrichment rescues CS- induced inflammation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of red and processed meat and fibre intake on treatment outcomes among patients with chronic inflammatory diseases: protocol for a prospective cohort study of prognostic factors and personalised medicine
Robin Christensen,Berit L. TL;DR: The principle goal of this project is to improve the quality of life of patients suffering from CID by providing evidence to support dietary and other lifestyle recommendations that may improve clinical outcomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immunohistochemical Localization of Deleted in Malignant Brain Tumors 1 in Normal Human Tissues.
Anders Bathum Nexøe,Andreas Arnholdt Pedersen,Sebastian von Huth,Sönke Detlefsen,Pernille Lund Hansen,Uffe Holmskov +5 more
TL;DR: The highest level of mRNA expression of DMBT1 was found in the small intestine, and the expression level was high throughout the luminal digestive tract and salivary glands.
Journal ArticleDOI
FIBCD1 ameliorates weight loss in chemotherapy-induced murine mucositis
Maria C E Andersen,Maria C E Andersen,Malene W Johansen,Malene W Johansen,Thomas Nissen,Anders Bathum Nexøe,Anders Bathum Nexøe,Gunvor Iben Madsen,Grith Lykke Sørensen,Uffe Holmskov,Anders Schlosser,Jesper B. Moeller,Steffen Husby,Steffen Husby,Mathias Rathe,Mathias Rathe +15 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest that FIBCD1 could ameliorate chemotherapy-induced gastrointestinal toxicity by reducing weight loss; however, the mechanism of this possible protective effect remains to be defined warranting additional investigations.
