Although homogeneous gold catalysis was known previously, an exponential growth was only induced 12 years ago. The key findings which induce that rise of the field are discussed. This includes early reactions of allenes and furanynes and intermediates of these conversions as well as hydroarylation reactions. Other substrate types addressed are alkynyl epoxides and N-propargyl carboxamides. Important vinylgold intermediates, the transmetalation from gold to other transition metals, the development of new ligands for gold catalysis, and significant contributions from computational chemistry are other crucial points for the field highlighted here.

Gold-Catalyzed Organic Reactions

This critical review presents a comprehensive study of transition-metal carboxylate clusters which may serve as secondary building units (SBUs) towards construction and synthesis of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). We describe the geometries of 131 SBUs, their connectivity and composition. This contribution presents a comprehensive list of the wide variety of transition-metal carboxylate clusters which may serve as secondary building units (SBUs) in the construction and synthesis of metal–organic frameworks. The SBUs discussed here were obtained from a search of molecules and extended structures archived in the Cambridge Structure Database (CSD, version 5.28, January 2007) which included only crystals containing metal carboxylate linkages (241 references).

Cyanines during the 1990s: A Review

A variant of the electromechanical transmission scheme for mobile platforms of small mass, designed primarily for operation in an organized artificial environment under the conditions of dimensional restrictions, is proposed. Typical examples of such environments are greenhouses, gardens and parks. Distinctive features of the proposed transmission are the use of a single traction motor and a power distribution mechanism that allows the use of two modes of side turn: in the range from a given minimum radius to infinity and turning around the center of gravity. The transmission scheme, with some changes, can be extended to mobile chassis of a larger mass - tractors of various traction classes, forestry machines, loaders, mobile robots, etc.

Synthesis and Structures of New 1,3,6,2‐Dioxazaborocanes Containing Substituents in the Ocane Fragment.

We report herein the synthesis and full characterizations of the first examples of gallium complexes based on “privileged” aminobisphenolate ligands which are easily available. These complexes turned out to be extremely active in the ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone even at room temperature and highly active in the ROP of L-lactide. The combination of factors such as the easy availability of these compounds and the supposedly low toxicity, together with the extremely high activity in ROP, allows us to consider these compounds as suitable for use on an industrial scale for the synthesis of biodegradable polymers for biomedical applications.
