Journal ArticleDOI
Selective cytotoxicity and apoptosis induction in glioma cell lines by 5-oxygenated-6,7-methylenedioxycoumarins from Pterocaulon species.
Damiana R. Vianna,Lidilhone Hamerski,Fabrício Figueiró,Andressa Bernardi,L.C. Visentin,Elisa Nicoloso Simões Pires,Helder Ferreira Teixeira,Christianne Gazzana Salbego,Vera Lucia Eifler-Lima,Ana Maria Oliveira Battastini,G. L. von Poser,Angelo C. Pinto +11 more
TL;DR: The coumarins 5-methoxy-6,7-methylenedioxycoumarin 1 and 2 isolated from Pterocaulon species showed significant cytotoxicity against two glioma cells lines, indicating a selective cytotoxic effect for tumor cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antigenotoxicity of trans-dehydrocrotonin, a clerodane diterpene from Croton cajucara.
TL;DR: It can be suggested that gavage is the most effective method of administering t-DCTN, as it showed no cytotoxic effects in the bone marrow cells regardless of the route of exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Leishmanicidal activity of Himatanthus sucuuba latex against Leishmania amazonensis.
Deivid Costa Soares,Alexandre L.S. Andrade,J. C. Delorenzi,Jefferson Rocha de A. Silva,Leonardo Freire-de-Lima,Camila A. B. Falcão,Angelo C. Pinto,Bartira Rossi-Bergmann,Elvira M. Saraiva +8 more
TL;DR: Findings support HsL as an interesting candidate for further evaluations regarding its potential application as a therapeutical agent against Leishmania.
Journal ArticleDOI
Blood glucose- and triglyceride-lowering effect of trans-dehydrocrotonin, a diterpene from Croton cajucara Benth., in rats.
Regilane M. Silva,Flávia A. Santos,Vietla Satyanarayana Rao,Maria Aparecida Medeiros Maciel,Angelo C. Pinto +4 more
TL;DR: Assessment in rats of the antidiabetic effects of trans‐dehydrocrotonin (t‐DCTN), a bioactive diterpene isolated from the popular medicinal plant Croton cajucara, found to reduce hyperglycaemia and hypertriglyceridaemia.
Journal ArticleDOI
The inhibition of paw oedema formation caused by the oil of Copaifera multijuga Hayne and its fractions
Valdir F. Veiga,Valdir F. Veiga,Luciano Zunino,Maria Lucia Patitucci,Angelo C. Pinto,João B. Calixto +5 more
TL;DR: The results suggest the presence of still non‐identified active terpene compounds in the oil of C. multijuga that exhibit anti‐oedematogenic properties.
