Targeting pancreatic islet PTP1B improves islet graft revascularization and transplant outcomes
Hugo Figueiredo,Hugo Figueiredo,Ana Lucia C. Figueroa,Ainhoa Garcia,Rebeca Fernandez-Ruiz,Christophe Broca,Anne Wojtusciszyn,Rita Malpique,Rosa Gasa,Ramon Gomis +9 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that grafts of pancreatic islets lacking PTP1B exhibit increased revascularization, which is accompanied by improved graft survival and function, and recovery of normoglycemia and glucose tolerance in diabetic mice transplanted with PTP 1B-deficient islets.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ten-years outcomes of islet transplantation in patients with type 1 diabetes: data from the Swiss-French GRAGIL network
Sandrine Lablanche,Sophie Borot,Anne Wojtusciszyn,Kristina Skaare,Alfred Penfornis,Paolo Malvezzi,Lionel Badet,Charles Thivolet,Emmanuel Morelon,Fanny Buron,Eric Renard,Igor Tauveron,Oriane Villard,Marion Munch,Salomé Sommacal,Léa Clouaire,Morgane Jacquet,Laura Gonsaud,Coralie Camillo-Brault,Cyrille Colin,Jean-Luc Bosson,Domenico Bosco,Thierry Berney,Laurence Kessler,Pierre-Yves Benhamou +24 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the 10-year outcomes of islet transplantation within the Swiss-French GRAGIL Network, in patients with type 1 diabetes experiencing high glucose variability associated with severe hypoglycemia and/or with functional kidney graft.
Journal ArticleDOI
Randomised, prospective, medico-economic nationwide French study of islet transplantation in patients with severely unstable type 1 diabetes: the STABILOT study protocol
Sandrine Lablanche,Sandra David-Tchouda,Jennifer Margier,Edith Schir,Anne Wojtusciszyn,Sophie Borot,Laurence Kessler,Emmanuel Morelon,Charles Thivolet,François Pattou,Marie-Christine Vantyghem,Thierry Berney,Pierre-Yves Benhamou +12 more
TL;DR: The STABILOT study proposes to assess the economic impact of islet transplantation in comparison with the current best medical treatment defined as sensor-augmented pump (SAP) therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Towards an artificial pancreas at home
TL;DR: The most recent models using subcutaneous insulin infusion and glucose measurements linked by predictive control algorithms offer sufficient effectiveness and safety to consider their forthcoming use at home, during the night as a first step.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immunomodulation by blockade of the TRANCE co-stimulatory pathway in murine allogeneic islet transplantation.
Anne Wojtusciszyn,Anne Wojtusciszyn,Axel Andres,Philippe Morel,Solange Charvier,Mathieu Pierre Jean Armanet,Christian Toso,Yongwon Choi,Domenico Bosco,Thierry Berney +9 more
TL;DR: TRANCE‐targeting may be an effective strategy for the prolongation of allogeneic islet graft survival, thanks to its inhibitory effects on co‐stimulatory signals and macrophage recruitment.
